COMMUNITY - GLOBAL UNITY

By embracing our shared human experience we are able to contribute however we can. Whether it is expressed by loving our children, sharing our gifts, honouring and protecting mother earth, feeding the hungry, chanting the name of God/Goddess/All That Is or through meditation on world peace.

I believe we all have a part to play that stems from our deep connection to who we truly are. When we take the space to be still and listen, the eternal, awakened voice can be heard within the silence. This voice knows our calling. It reminds us of our interconnectedness and how we can give back to the world.

SHANTI CHILDREN’S PROJECT

My connection with the Shanti Children’s Project in Tiruvannamali, India, started over 10 years. I first fell in love with the family that started the project. They humbly and quietly opened the doors to the disadvantaged children and families of the surrounding area. Recognising there was a need to help children they begun the process of offering an after school program for any child that wished to participate.

Many of the children were without sufficient, food, clothing, sanitation and had no access to medical care. Even though all children can attend school now in India, it didn’t mean they had books, pens, clothing, food in their stomach, etc. Many of the schools are hugely overcrowded and a lot of the kids slip through the cracks.

Kumar and his beautiful extended family decided to make a difference by offering these kids the help they needed.

One of the main reasons I created the CD ' Sacred Soul, Notes from Arunachala' was so it could be a vehicle to help these children. The CD was launched at the foot of Arunachala(Shiva’s sacred mountain)in Tiruvanamali. 100% of the proceeds and sales of the CD went directly to the Shanti Children’s project and continue to be sold at the Shanti Cafe to create much needed ongoing funds.
